Dope Chef

Dope Chef is a London based street wear brand launched in January 2008. Its culturally conscious mindset is one that links well to the fresh kid subculture. As seen on the Yin and yang website (One Blog, Two Fresh Kids that we researched previously) it is a common theme to be culturally aware in the fresh kid clang. The Dope Chef brand dabbles in all social realms such as politics, art, music, film and media. Historical legends such as Keith Richardson, Bill Clinton and Andy Warhol, are used to symbolise the true meaning of a "Dope Chef" which is a person who leads a double life as both hero and villian. The brand sells in stores such as Harvey Nicholls, Sneaker and Twisted Tongues and is now breaking through to the United States, becoming more and more popular but with supporters such as Kanye West , Tinie Tempa, Rick Ross and Wiley, which isn't a suprise. These modern day celebrities are very much style icons for the typical fresh kid. So the brand is sure to be worn by those involved in fresh kid scene.
